The full name of Dr Abdul Kalam is Avul Pakir jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Dr Kalam was born on 15th October 1931 to a poor Tamil muslim family in Rameshwaram, Tamilnadu. He was the great 11th president of India. His father Jainulabdeen was boat owner and his mother Ashiamma was a house wife. Kalam was the youngest of four brothers and one sister in his family.
In his school life, he had a average grades student but as a bright and hardworking student who desired to learn. He spent much of his time in studies in the subject of mathematics especially. Kalam completed his education at the Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram. Kalam went to Saint Joseph's College, Tiruchirapalli. He was graduated in physics in the 1954 at University of Madras. He was missed of his dream to becoming a fighter pilot.

Dr Kalam mentioned in his book that to getting study he started work of a newspaper vendor. He was never try to left his study even though poverty background.
When he was only 8 year, he decided to support his family. he would take tuition for 2 hours. Then he went to railway station to collect newspaper that came in the train and went town to distribute. After that he was ready to go school and did home works daily.
Career as a scientist: After the graduated for Madaras University in 1960, He joined Aeronautical Development Establishment of the defense research and Development Organisation. After joining this organisations he started to designing a small hovercraft. he was worked Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) where he was the project director of India's first Satelite Launch Vehicle(SLV-III). Kalam had started work on Rocket project at DRDO in 1965. He had worked many of government projects with his incredible memory power and he completed all projects. He was known as a missile-man because he launched India's first rocket.
President of India: Kalam was 11th president of India. he was one of the popular presidents. He won the presidential election on 2002 against Laxmi Sahagal. He nominated as president of Republic of India on 25th July 2002. Kalam was the third president of India who was awarded India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna. Before of him becoming president, Dr Sarvepalli Radhekrishnan and Dr Zakir Hussain were also honored by Bharat Ratna. He was the first scientist and bachelor who was lead the Rastrapati Bhawan.
During time of his Presidency, he was affectionately known as a People's President. he was decided many toughest during his time like Office of Profit bill he had taken. He was served as president 25 July 2007 last day. After that he was declined to contest of Presidential again and did not support to any parties.
After his tenure, he became a visiting professor at IIM Shilong, IIM Ahemdabad, IIM Indore, Indian Institute of Science and chancellor of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram.
Death: Kalam was going for a lecture "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" to Shillong at the IIM Shillong on 27th July 2015. While climbing the flight stairs he experienced to discomfort but he was able to enter into flight. At the around 6.35 PM after the 5 minutes of lecture he felled on the stage and was rushed immediately nearby Bethany Hospital in very critical condition.upon the arrival there was not signs of live. He had dead. This was the day that shocked India and the world.
